• Open the dust cover, hold the cover with one hand, then push it out from the inside with the other hand.

• I hesitate to suggest a method. There are particles in the air, especially when heat or air conditioning is operating. For protection of your disk and needle, I would recommend keeping the cover. Martyn Stowe
