Converts a female DisplayPort to HDMI female port only to connect your computer’s DisplayPort to an HDMI-enabled TV, monitor or projector. You need an HDMI cable to connect this adapter into an HDMI port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When I had to deal with a displayport, it was on the back of my docking station to connect my monitor. Given the sleek design of laptops of late, I doubt there's room (or a need) for a displayport on the laptop. HDMI port should work sufficiently for most connections to monitors. If displayport is your only option, then you would need an HDMI to Displayport adapter. Just make sure you have the proper male/female ends. (Hope this answers your question.)
