“Had a recent power outage. Now unit will not turn on. When I unplug then plug in the unit, I get an error code “88”. Any idea what’s wrong.”

Send it to the landfill. These are throwaway units. Parts are unavailable to repair it, and nobody will work on them. You Sir, have been fleeced, like the rest of us who bought this tird.
