“My tv does not have an audio jack but does have an arc hdmi, however my speakers I like are analog audio only. Will this work to connect my analog speakers to the arc hdmi port in my tv? Assuming I have the analog cables and hdmi cables of course.”

I had the exact same issue. The short answer is no. I bought this HDMI audio extractor and connected it to my TV's HDMI ARC port to see if it could pull the audio stream from the TV and output it via the headphone jack. However, when I connected it, it received no audio stream from the TV. As it turns out, when a device is connected to your TV's HDMI ARC port, the TV will only output the audio stream via that port if the connected device is configured as an ARC receiver (like a sound bar or home theater receiver). If the device is not an ARC receiver, the TV will instead treat it as an input device. Unfortunately, this HDMI audio extractor is not configured as an HDMI ARC receiver, so the TV won't output sound to it over ARC.

Please try again later.This would work between the source and the TV to extract the audio for input to an analog or digital input on a separate amplifier that does not have HDMI inputs. It will not directly power your speakers unless they are powered speakers. I do not think (although I might be wrong) that it will extract the audio return FROM the TV on the same cable used to send it an HDMI signal, but may, however, allow you to do so if you are not using the ARC HDMI port on the TV for an input, and instead using it as an output only. This would depend on the TV. Also, most TV's do not pass Dolby Digital from external sources if using the TV as a switcher.
