• I had a similar question about this, and was advised that someone with a hearing problem should buy the headset that covers both ears. That would make the volume better, as well as block out other noises in the room.

• NO, I can hear better without the headphones. Sometimes I will push and hold the ear piece tight to my ear so I can hear a little better. Other than that these are great.
