I felt the same way initially but after my purchase I noticed differences from my previous Bluetooth headset and this one; namely battery life and audio quality. (Upgraded from LG HBS 750, which did not have noise cancelling.) This particular model is on clearance in some areas currently, I bought a set for $79.99 when this model was first released. Sale price appeared to be $39.99 for this model on clearance. So long as the devices' batteries' cells have survived the time on shelves; this headset is a steal for the price!
