• No. Unfortunately, the Insignia NS-P5113 |SKU:9139826 Portable CD Player is not compatible with your iPad. Sorry. You must use headphones to listen to the portable CD player as this unit does not feature a built-in speaker. Good Luck.

• I would think so if you are using the device to play something through the IPAD's speakers. I don't think that you would have to use the headphones unless you don't want to disturb someone else. no, it doesn't come with it's own speaker. those are sold separate.
