I bought one as a gift and it died after 11 months. Best Buy wouldn't do anything about it and Insignia doesn't get back to me

It is only a one year warranty.  My Insignia Ice Maker died after 15 months too.

But you can also contact your retailer if you have product warranty when you initially purchase this or visit your local technician.
