• The only real downside of this device is that you have to leave it on all the time so that it continues to make ice. It doesn't have heavy insulation or a strong enough compressor to keep the ice frozen indefinitely so it will melt over time recycling the water and making new ice. I have mine cycling continually and move ice to my chest freezer several times throughout the day.
