Does this make ice cube or ice like sonic ice null

I had a GE Opal 2.0 Sonic-like ice maker and this one isn't quite the same type of ice, but I find the cubes to be just as chewable. The Opals constantly break down. I wouldn't recommend them. This one is decent, but I wish you could open the upper part of the lid for cleaning.

Makes each batch in less than 8 minutes.
