I wouldn't keep mine in the care. I don't know if it's safe or not, but I live in a very hot, humid city and I would be afraid of the heat and humidity doing it damage. I bring mine in with me each night.

I recently travelled to Las Vegas and the temperatures there hit the high 100s. The device was charging my watch while the car was parked. It got heated due to sunlight but there was no problem with the charging or the device itself.
