“Does the charging stand have to be within a certain distance of the TV? I ask this because I have someone who is totally bed-bound in a nursing home who wants one, but doesn't want to have to bother the staff every time he takes the headset off to charge”

• The distance from the charging dock to the tv depends on the length of the connecting cable. It will work no matter how long the cable is.

• You could try to use an extension cord for power and a longer audio cable to connect the docking station to the TV.
