With the optical you have to ONLY have that connected. If its also wired to TV with rca jacks it will make that pulsating sound. Disconnect it and only use your digital optical and set TV to optical in sound. Should work.

Bought a 50" Samsung ultra 4 HD. Hooked up head set base with optical cable, worked fine for a few days, now sound pulsates every 5 seconds. Tried PCM as suggested by Best Buy, same issue.

I did do that but it still cut out about every 5 seconds.....
I ended up buying the MEE headset and love it!

Set the TV audio output format to PCM.

with optical cable, make sure the base unit is in the digital optical mode. It is the bottom indicator light.
