2. You can set the app to turn the speaker on/off when powering on/off the TV to which it's connected.

You can use any speakers but these are a great matched set and a good portion of the expense is really the quality of speakers. If you are looking for a receiver for an existing set I’d honestly look at dedicated audio receivers. There’s no auto off on the receiver that I’ve noticed. And it works just fine with a harmony though it took me a minute to figure out the control for selecting the speaker sets for volume adjustment.

Yes you have to use the speakers. They contain all the electronics, input. Decoding. Volume. Wifi. Blyetooth etc

Not familiar with Insignia. I know it is the house brand of Best Buy but I usually use the higher end products. Contact Best buy.
