Please try again later.This question is vague but I understand that the adapter was hooked to a cell phone and connected to a television through an HDMI interface and it did not work. If the adapter was not used when the chromecast was connected to the same port and worked that makes sense because it was designed to be compatible with a television. I would check to see if the adapter is defective and if not research to make sure that the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is compatible with such an interface. Hope this was helpful. Clarence
