• How many hdmi ports do you have? If only 1 you will need additional HDMI ports/ splitter to hook up your large monitor by HDMI cable

• it worked on my Dell Optiplex 7010 and my tv it's 32" TCL. I had to buy a hdmi cord. So I think it will work on a laptop that has a port external monitor,
