Connect one first to the device you are trying to, then put them back in th box and do the same for the second one. Sometimes you can change the name of the headphones on your phone so you won't get them mixed up. But whenever they are both on, as long as you don't connect to the wrong headset the Bluetooth part should only make it so that it goes to your device.

In fact sometimes when my battery dies I will borrow my husband’s. The names are all the same in Bluetooth so I usually will delete them and then repair them when I need to.
