I have a 12x 22 and that's the pump that came with the pool. And I would have to say no!!! I wouldn't go with anything less than a 3000gph. I feel like above ground pools are set up to fail. If you ever seen a pump that belongs to an inground pool you would understand. My mother has an inground pool that's the same size as my above ground and the pump is 20 times the size
