The cord is about a yard long while coiled. My last Sennheisers (HD 205) developed a short in the cord. This cord, I believe, is replaceable, so you don't lose your entire investment if it craps out on you. Bulky: I have to admit it took a quick minute to adjust from the cords that I'm used to, but it is no problem now. It doesn't feel bulky to me, and I actually prefer it now to the other types. I just whip it to the back of me and listen to my music! Plus, if you happen to snag it on something, there's a lot of give and you won't pull it away from your actual cans.

Hello-

The cable is a lightweight, coiled detachable cable. It can stretch to about 10 feet and self coils when you are closer to your audio source, to about 4 feet.
