• Yes it will. It's a hardware command switch, not a software generated switch command. Any OS will work.

• Works fine with SuSE Linux on a Toshiba Portege. Works fine with both of my Macs. I picked this device up because the Belkins Soho 4 way would confuse the video on the mac. The Linux systems seemed fine with the Belkin. Hope this helps.
