It has sensors in the front so it will detect stairs and not tumble down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Roomba have to be placed from upstairs to downstairs. My suggestions is that if the docking station is in the dining area and you want it to clean living room and dining room, place it the area that the docking station is not at so it can find its way home but it will clean both areas. It does notice not to fall down stairs. It will sense the steps and turn around.
