I am looking at the 890 to pick up cat litter in one room. Is this a good unit for that or should I look at a different model? null

Mine does a great job of picking up litter. Does require a little extra cleaning but I can now walk past the litter box barefoot to get to my washer and dryer...

It will definitely pick it up. It does seem to have a small capacity to carry the removed debris though.

The 890 will pick up cat litter off short pile carpet or hard surfaces like tile with no problem. Just make sure to keep the filter clean as cat litter tends to be pretty dusty.

It would work great for that. My Roomba picks up large and small items with ease. It also has a brush on the side to get under counters and sweep debris in the path of the vacuum.

Hey Rob,

I have a cat as well, and yes it picks up the litter that she scatters when she explodes out of the box. As long as it's not a sand box amount of litter on the floor...it will do the job. I strongly recommend purchasing the extended warranty for this device. You will most likely be setting this thing to clean at least three days a week. I have purchased it and have used it. There are a lot of moving parts that you are using quite often.
