Hi, I've tried running it while I'm sleeping but unless you shut the door to your bedroom, it is quite loud. I would say it almost is as loud as a regular sized vacuum. It's difficult to even watch tv if it's in the same room. You can schedule it to run when you aren't home. It's a wonderful vacuum and coming home every day feels so wonderful! I do recommend it. But it is not quiet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.wouldn't recommend running at night while sleeping, if it knocks something over then that would alert you..... I'm a very light sleeper, so this would not work for me... I suggest running it before you go to sleep.

It isn't loud but it isn't silent either and it increases the vacuum when going over carpet. Therefore, it is it louder on carpet. I would assume one would get used to the sound after some time.
