“using this to connect my ACER VGA monitor tp my laptop HDMI port. I cannot get sound when I have the ACER as the second monitor. Plugged my speaker to the audio port on the adapter but no sound comes out. How do I get sound?”

Oddly enough I just unplugged it and plugged it back together and the sound started working. Not sure what was going on. It is working great now.

Try to adjust your audio settings on your laptop, usually there are a couple options.
