“Do you have to download software onto your computer to use this connector? If so anyone know of one that doesnt? I am using a work supplied laptop which I am not allowed to download onto but I want an ethernet connection and wireless mouse and keyboard.”

However, the USB 3.0 port will work plug-and-play. In order to download the driver for this device, it will require that you have administrative privileges on your user account, or that you have your company IT or Help desk install these drivers.
