You can use any USB charger that doesn't output more than 5.5v. My only complaint about the X3s at this time is the need for a separate piece of proprietary hardware which Jaybird calls a “charging clip” to charge the X3 earbuds. While Jaybird probably made the change to using a “charging clip” to reduce the width of the X3 earbuds and make the X3 earbuds lighter and more durable; If you lose, misplace or simply do not have this “charging clip” with you, then you will not be able to charge the X3 earbuds. As of this writing ( 2016-11-20 ) the Jaybird “charging clip” is not available anywhere for purchase including from Jaybird so make sure, if you purchase the X3s, that you do not lose or misplace the “charging clip”. Once the “charging clips” are available for purchase as an accessory, I’m going to get several of them for each of my vehicles, my laptop bag, for home & work and one to carry with me. I’ll attach the “charging clip” to the end of the Micro USB cables and secure the “charging clip” to the cable using the lanyard that is physically a part of the “charging clip”. Should the “charging clip” ever come loose or unplugged from the Micro USB, it’ll still be attached ( tied ) to the Micro USB end of the cable via the lanyard.

EarBuds b. 3 sets of Silicon Ear Fins ( small, medium, large ) c. 3 sets of Silicon Ear Tips ( small, medium, large ) d. 3 sets of Comply Isolation Ear Tips ( small, medium, large ) e. 2 cord clips f. 1 shirt clip g. 1 Carry Pouch h. 1 USB to Micro USB cable with “Charging Clip” attached NO charger included. Use any charger that has USB connection with less than 5.5v output. Charging: Full ( 100% ) charge last ~8hrs depending on volume & bass. With 1A charger it takes: ~2.50 hrs to charge from 0% to 100%. With 2A charger it takes: ~1.25 hrs to charge from 0% to 100%. With 1A charger: 15-20 mins charge adds ~1hr audio play. With 2A charger: 15-20 mins charge adds ~2hrs audio play. Avoid any USB charger that has more than 5.5v output. Any USB chargers ( Wall, Car, etc ) that supply more than 5.5v will damage Jaybird X3 earbuds and should not be used. If earbuds are paired ( there’s Bluetooth connectivity to the earbuds ), but there isn’t any music or audio being played, the earbuds will not turn off; however, very little battery charge appears to be used even after many hours of being left on. You can listen to music while charging the earbuds. It’s a little tricky as you have to make sure the “charging clip” doesn’t disconnect from the inline controller, but it’s possible if you’re somewhat stationary as in laying or sitting down, even standing up ( if you’re using portable battery bank / charger ); so long as you don’t move around too much causing “charging clip” to become detached from the inline controller you will be able to listen to audio / music and charge the earbuds. When I first got my X3s I listened to music continuously for 6hrs ( 9pm to 3am ), while charging earbuds and playing with all the X3 and the Jaybird MySound app features. X3 Battery charge can be checked: * When earbuds are first turned on charge is announced. * MySound app displays battery charged on earbuds. * Pressing Vol +/- when no audio is being played. * Pulling down notification panel shows % battery charge left. To charge the X3 earbuds you have to use the enclosed "charging clip" attachment that connects to the bottom side of the controller on the X3. Lose this "charging clip" attachment or not have it with you and you'll not be able to charge the X3s without it. At this time ( 2016-11-20 ) the "charging clip" cannot be purchased alone nor with the USB to Micro USB cable. It’s not available yet. So Do Not lose the “charging clip”. I used my own 6 feet USB to Micro USB cable which I plugged into the "charging clip" attachment and then tied lanyard on "charging clip" to my cable. Only Complaint with X3s is need for proprietary “Charging Clip” See pics to view "Charging Clip", 6' cable I connected it to and 5.0v 2A USB charger.
