My wife is succombed to the same problem however she and I both have not had any issues with the earbud tips falling off; silicone or noise reducing foam tips. Just like the fins the earbud tips seem to slightly snap on vs. just slipping and sliding around. Requires a little effort to actually pull the tips off to change them but not so much it's inconvenient.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I say Yes. The X3 has a slightly different "post" for holding the earbud covers. See picture attached.. The X and X2 had a smooth plastic post. So far, the X3's hold on better. I experienced the same thing as you with the X and X2, especially with the silicone earbuds. They would always come off in my pocket after a few weeks of use.
