Since this sound bar has an HDMI pass-through, you are able to run one source through the sound bar while using HDMI ARC from your TV. If you do not have HDMI ARC, you can simply run the sound through an optical cable to your sound bar. Very simple design. It makes more sense once you have the product in your hands as well. I recommend buying it. You will not be disappointed.

Only use the optical if you can’t connect using hdmi. Optical is only for picture and cannot produce high quality sound. Connect sound bar using hdmi in the Arc ports if u have those
