Will the 500 have better connectivity than the 300? null

Not necessarily, the difference in features are more related to speaker configuration and size of the cabinet.

The speaker randomly shuts down and loses connectivity. JBL tech support has been worthless---I'm trying to get a refund.

Never had the 300. So far the 500 has not given me any issues.
