• Hi the JBL BOOMBOX is a bluetooth speaker, you could pair it up via BT to your smartphone or tablet and wirelessly send the music onto the speaker, if you don't have music stored in your phone you could use paid music services such as spotify, it does not support data transfer, the USB plug is there to use the JBL BOOMBOX as a power bank, you can charge your smartphone or tablet with it,
