This model can be used while being charged.

This speaker will play plugged into the wall outlet or unplugged. I keep mine plugged in at night and remove the plug during the day and take it to my office since the battery life is so good it easily lasts all day with no problems. Hope this answers your question.

You can play it both plugged in and on battery. There is no harm in keeping it plugged in as it uses the power directly from the outlet once it finishes charging. If you wish to take it outside, simply unplug it and take it outside with a full charge.
