From JBL's deliberately evasive and vague answer one can only assume that you'll be stuck with garbage once the battery quits charging. Alas, we're happily filling land with garbage when batteries should be replaceable and speakers should go on for very long time.

If ever the battery is full, lithium-ion has smart circuits, and the unit will automatically go into trickle charging. Unfortunately, we don't offer internal parts and battery replacements for our portable products.
