• you can control it on both! theres small button figures on the side and you can control it on your phone or bluetooth device.

• Both. Press the JBL volume to the max and then you can control additional volume through your phone. It works really well.

• The volume control on the JBL-Portable speaker can be controlled either through the speaker or can also be adjusted from your phone.

• When you pair it up with Bluetooth, the volume level will match with your device. Your phone and this speaker have volume adjusters but pressing either one will set the same volume to the other. If you press the volume down once on the speaker, its like pressing the volume button down once on your phone, and vice-versa.
