• Hi Sally, You plug it in and it instructs you what to do. it tells you go to app store & download google home assistant and from there it connects to your wifi and tethers to your "device" phone or tablet and then it will update for about 5 min then your good to go! this device is Awesome! Your going to Love the sound, I liked it so much I purchased 2 :-)
