• Probably....It would depend on the size of the barn and how noisy the horse riding is. In a room, it has very good sound and sufficient volume for sure. I would think if you could talk in a normal voice with someone not much more than 15-20 feet away and hear them ok you should be able to hear this radio as well. It's a very good radio, in my opinion, but it's on the small size and does not have the volume of a "boom-box" (if you know what I mean). Hope this helps.
