how to you adjust the neck to make longer null

The neck is not adjustable. There is a pad at the back of the unit to keep it a bit off the back of your neck, which makes the fan a bit more effective. But, there is no adjustment to make the neck longer. The fans flex apart about 1/2 inch or so by gently pulling them apart. That makes it easy to slide on and off your neck. They snap right back soon as you quit pulling them apart.

This is a fixed-sized but flexible to fit around any but the very largest neck.
