These stay in place and are easily pared.

You should be able to get whatever kind of headphones you like that can hook up to a phone or tablet, though these and other active wear headphones might be better at remaining relatively in place with the hooks. The TV is a Roku TV, so if he is utilizing the Roku apps on the TV to watch (selecting Netflix/Hulu or whatever through the TV and not through an additional device hooked up to the TV), the Roku App can be downloaded on App Store (for iPhones or iPads) or the Google Play Store (for Android phones or tablets) when on the Remote screen on the app (it just turns a phone or tablet into a version of the physical remote you have) there is a button on the screen for Private Listening mode, which will route all of the audio to the phone, so whatever wireless headphones are paired with the phone will be used. If a device hooked up to one of the TVs video inputs is being used to view things, the TV has a 3.5mm headphone port in the back, a "3.5mm to Bluetooth Adapter" (just Google the section in quotes there, should be able to get one for $10-30ish) can be used, with the unfortunate downside that the adapter would need to be unplugged when not in use for audio to revert back to the TV speakers.
