Not sure of the dimensions of a 7th generation iPad. Mine is 6-7/8" wide x 9-7/8" long. It fits width wise but not length wise. However, the device does have a swivel that permits using it in landscape mode once secured. Mounted on a professional tripod I use the device quite a bit to record semi-professional videos with a teleprompter app.
