Seems like the red one is defective. Mine last 2 days maybe a little bit more between 3 to 4 hours of gameplay minimum before asking for charge. Replace as soon as you can.

I would contact Nintendo Customer Support, and let them know what happened, and they should be able to repair it (hopefully for free), or replace it if it cant be repaired.
