Yeah it should work. 
the vertical brackets that attach to your TV are threaded by much longer horizontal bars that attach it to the main section of the TV brace. 
You should have no problems with 27.5" I'd say that this thing will easily accept up to nearly 36" 
I didn't measure it but the bars that thread are quite long.
