“Centered directly in front of the sofa is window. The TV will need to be mounted to the right of the window. Can the TV be (theoretically) slid/shifted over to the left, essentially placing it in front of the window for viewing? If so how far?”

Denise, You probably do not want a mount with dual arms if you're trying to shift your TV, you will get very limited movement. Feel free to contact us directly using the support button on our website so we can give you some recommendations of what will work.
