The K-Series Interconnect is a twisted pair, low level signal, RCA style cable and can be used to connect signal sources with RCA jacks such as DVD players, record players, media streaming devices, etc. to and from your Sony receiver with no issue. You can also use the cable to send a low level, RCA type signal from your Sony receiver to another source such as a zone 2 output to an amplifier or powered speakers. This cable is not designed to carry high level, speaker level signals from any amplifier to a passive speaker. Hopefully this answers your question!
