WE INSTALLED IT WHEN WE REMODELED OUR KITCHEN IN 2012. SO WE HAD A SPOT DESIGNED FOR IT. THEY ARE ALL A STANDARD SIZE. THIS IS OUR SECOND ONE AND IS SUPERIOR TO THE FIRST ONE WE BOUGHT. THE KITCHENAID FIT IN THE SAME SPOT AS THE OTHER BRAND AND MODEL. YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A CABINET MAKER MAKE A SPOT FOR IT IN AN EXISTING CABINET WITHOUT AN OPENING.
