Take fewer trips to the curb with this KitchenAid KTTS505ESS built-in trash compactor, which features an efficient 1/3 HP motor and a 5-to-1 compaction ratio for fast, easy waste management. The odor management system keeps your home smelling fresh.
A: Panel ready means the appliance gets delivered without a front. You would then go to a cabinet maker so they can design a custom panel and pull handles to match the cabinets in your kitchen. This way at a glance you would not know there was an appliance there as it would seamlessly blend in with you cabinets
Q: Can this unit be used as a free standing piece?
A: There is no reason it couldn't. It would be rather bulky, it is not a small appliance. It is designed to fit under a cabinet, but it would still work free standing.
Q: What size of panel should I order for the front?
A: Hi Mark, this calls for a 29 3/8" H and 15" W panel with a minimum 1/2" (13mm) thickness. Hope this helps.
Q: what are the dimensions of this trash compactor, SKU: 7500015 ?
A: The dimensions of this product are as follows: 34.125"H x 15"W x 24"D.
A: Hi MrsD, this unit does indeed use the Slip and Grip bags. Hope that helps!
Q: Does the unit run on 110vac 60hz?
A: Hello Toni! Per the Use and Care Guide: This compactor is for use on a single phase, 115-volt, 60 Hz, AC only, 15- or 20-amp fused and properly grounded circuit. Thank you for your inquiry on our KitchenAid appliances.
A: Why not? But.. only if you do same sort of packaging. It would hinder waste management from separating cans, glass and plastics if you toss them in together.
Q: Will this fit in an opening of 33 3/4” high if the wheels are taken off?
A: This will probably fit very tightly without taking the wheels off. I measured my opening and it is right about that size for height and it fit without removing anything. It was a tight fit. Your tightest area will be the two machine screws at the top of the unit. I put this unit in to replace an old Jenn Air that tightly fit in the same space.

This is our second trash compactor. Our first one lasted 23 years. It was made by another manufacturer, and no longer made. I did not realize how much I would miss having one until it stopped working. We purchased this particular model because it was the only one I could find that has “extra compact mode“ I’m not sure why you would want a trash compactor that does not have this feature. True this apparently makes the trash compactor more expensive, but well worth the money. We simply uncrated carried it inside, pulled out the old unit, plugged it in and pushed it in under the counter. Probably the easiest appliance installation job ever. The filter feature works well but we really don’t use it since I basically washed out any food residue before placing in the trash bin I mean we do only take the trash out every 5 to 6 days. The stainless steel looks great and I would recommend this to anyone especially if you have children .

Love this Trash Compactor. Replaced a Kitchen Aid Compactor that broke 20 years ago. Bought the Dishwasher first and saw the TC look alike. Love both of them. Very very pricey though. Worth it though.

This KitchenAid trash compactor replaced a 20+ year whirlpool trash compactor that we had. This one is stainless steel and it really works great.
