“Can this microwave be installed in an island (under counter)? Re-doing the kitchen and would like this style rather than the drawer style for cost and features (convection). Thanks”

Min sits on counter. If it is in an island it would seem awkward to use being so low?

We mounted ours in a cabinet, see pic, the trim plate is unevenly gapped, but it works. See my review, this unit is bland on features and is underpowered compared to its cousins
