“In the delivered vent position, back into the room, can this microwave work setting on the counter while awaiting the installation in a week or 2? or if elevated off the counter 6" or more and do the features include a plus 30 second or 1 minute timer?”

Hello DanH. This KitchenAid® Microwave cannot work sitting on a counter.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The air intake is on the underside so sitting on a countertop would significantly restrict the airflow - something to lift it above the counter by a few inches would be much better. Yes, there is a 30s add timer.
