“My question is: Why not 1200w? 1200w seems more desirable than 1000w. So many foods' cooking directions talk about 1200w as being the optimum! Does KitchenAid make the same size microwave with 1200w?”

The extra power would have been great but the 1000 wats seems quite adequate and seems to do its job very nicely.
