• no it is an over the range microwave. Best Buy sells counter top micrwaves with trim kits for a built in look or some models are made to be built in to wall.

• I would think it would take some modification to the shelf. it has to be mounted to a wall with the bracket for support. on the shelf you wouldn't be able to use the exhaust or light for the stove top.
