The tub material is marketed to be stainless steel.

I don't know the technical answer, but I can tell you that I replaced a GE Monogram with this and I am VERY happy with it. Ten times better cleaning, low noise, and easy to manage. For me, a homerun!

My tub is made of stainless steel, which I highly recommend as it makes it much quieter and lasts longer!

The interior walls are lined with stainless steel, or at least some type of metal material (based on its looks).
