- Answer Bebe, In case of a prolonged power failure, the surface burners cannot be lit manually on model KFDD500ESS. No attempt should be made to operate the appliance during a power failure. QuestionDo you have a pull out rack that has a lip on the back? You have to be VERY careful when you pull out the rack as the pan can go sliding off the back and fall into the oven. The other 2 racks have lips on the back, not sure why the pull out one doesnt.
